Balloon witch


Materials: two balloons; an air pump; scissors and a permanent marker.

Inflate the black balloon leaving a three—inch flat tail (Pic 1).

The first four bubbles we twist to make the hat. Twist the first five—inch bubble (Pic 2).

Twist the 2nd soft five—inch bubble (Pic 3).

Lock both ends of the 2nd bubble in one lock twist (Pic 4). This step is marked with arrows between points A and B on the scheme 1.

Twist the third soft five—inch bubble (Pic 5).

Lock both ends of the third bubble in one lock twist (Pic 6). This step is marked with arrows between point B and C on the scheme 1.

Twist the 4th soft five—inch bubble (Pic 7).

Lock both ends of the 4th bubble in one lock twist (Pic 8). This step is marked with arrows between points C and D on the scheme 1. We have made the hat.

The next three bubbles twisted in the bird body fold will make the hair. Twist the fifth soft four—inch bubble (Pic 9).

Twist the sixth soft four—inch bubble (Pic 10).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the fifth and the sixth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 11). This step is marked with arrows between points D and F on the scheme 1.

Twist the seventh soft four—inch bubble (Pic 12).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the sixth and the seventh) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 13 and 14). This step is marked with arrows between points G and H on the scheme 1. Remember: you have to roll the fifth and the sixth bubbles around the seventh bubble to make the bird body fold/twist. The rest of the balloon is the 8th bubble. It’s the pony tail. We have made the hair.


Inflate the green balloon leaving a five—inch flat tail (Pic 15).

Twist the first four—inch bubble (Pic 16). It’s the nose.

Lock the free end (point A on the scheme 2) of the first green bubble between the black eighth bubble and the rest of the black balloon (Pic 17 and 18).


The next two bubbles we twist to make the eyes. Twist the second green soft four—inch bubble (Pic 19).

Lock the free end (point B on the scheme 2) of the second green bubble between the first four black bubbles and the last four black bubbles (Pic 20).

Twist the third green soft four—inch bubble (Pic 21).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the second and the third) green bubbles 
in one lock twist (Pic 22). This step is marked with arrows between points A and C on the scheme 2. We have made the eyes.

The next two bubbles we twist to make cheeks. Twist the fourth green soft two—inch bubble (Pic 23).

Lock both ends of the fourth green bubble in one lock twist (Pic 24). This step is marked with arrows between points C and D on the scheme 2.

Twist the fifth green soft two—inch bubble (Pic 25).

Lock both ends of the fifth green bubble in one lock twist (Pic 26 and 27). This step is marked with arrows between points D and E on the scheme 2. We have made the cheeks.


Twist the sixth soft five—inch bubble (Pic 28).

Lock both ends of the sixth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 29 through 32). This step is marked with arrows between points E and F on the scheme 2. We have made the mouth. The rest of the balloon is the eighth bubble. We can use it as a handle or to attach the head to a body or a hat. Use a permanent marker to draw the eyes. Congratulations, you have made the head.




Twist the eighth green two—inch bubble (Pic 33). It’s a neck.

Force the free end of the eighth green bubble between the purple shoulder bubbles of the body 10 
to make the witch (Pic 34). The rest of the green balloon is the ninth bubble.

Cut off the ninth green bubble and tie off the end (Pic 35 through 38). We have made the witch.




Witch looks better with a broom (Pic 39 and 40).


You can attach the head to a hat (Pic 41 through 43). Have fun and happy twisting :)
