We are going to use a red balloon for the top of the hat and a white balloon for the base and the beard. Inflate the red balloon leaving a four—inch flat tail (Pic 1).

Twist the first eleven—inch bubble (Pic 2).

Twist the 2nd soft one—inch bubble (Pic 3).

Twist the third soft one—inch bubble (Pic 4).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the second and the third) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 5). This step is marked with arrows between points B and D on the scheme 1.

Lock both ends of the second (and the third) bubble in one lock twist (Pic 6). This step is marked with arrows between points B and C on the scheme 1.

Twist the fourth eleven—inch bubble (Pic 7). The rest of the balloon is the fifth bubble.

Cut off the fifth bubble and tie off the end (Pic 8). We have made the top of the hat.

Well, the hat would look better with a small white bubble at the very top of the hat. We are going to use a part of the white balloon to make it. Inflate the white balloon leaving two—inch flat tail (Pic 9).

Force the air to the end of the flat tail (Pic 10).

Twist the first white one—inch bubble at the end of the white balloon (Pic 11).

Lock the first white bubble (the point A on the scheme 1) between the second and third red bubbles (Pic 12 and 13).

Cut off the rest of the white balloon and tie off all ends of the white balloon (Pic 14).

At this point the white balloon could be a bit soft (Pic 15).

The chain of the next two bubbles should be of the size of your head. Twist the second eleven—inch bubble (Pic 16).

Twist the third eleven—inch bubble (Pic 17).

Lock both ends of the chain of the first two (the second and the third) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 18). This step is marked with arrows between points B and D on the scheme 2. The rest of the white balloon is the fourth bubble.

Lock the free end of the 4th bubble between the 2nd and the third bubble (Pic 19 and 20). This step is marked with arrows between points E and C on the scheme 2. We have made the base of the hat. The fourth white bubble represents the beard.

Attach the ends of the red balloon between white bubbles (Pic 21 through 22).

You may want to shape red bubbles (Pic 23 through 27). Congratulations, you have made the Santa’s hat. Have fun and happy twisting :)
