Inflate a balloon leaving an eight—inch flat tail (Pic 1).

We are going to use the tulip twist to make a tail. Twist the first soft less than half—inch bubble (Pic 2).

Force the first bubble inside of the balloon and twist the second six—inch bubble (Pic 3). This step is marked with red arrows between points A and B on the scheme. Bend the second bubble to shape a letter S (think that’s how the tail should look like).

The next two bubbles we twist to make the rear legs. Twist the third soft three—inch bubble (Pic 4).

Twist the third soft three—inch bubble (Pic 5).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the third and the fourth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 6). This step is marked with arrows between points B and D on the scheme.

Lock both ends of the third (the fourth) bubble in one lock twist (Pic 7 and 8). This step is marked with arrows between points B and C on the scheme.

Twist the fifth two—inch bubble (Pic 9). It’s the body.

The next five bubbles we twist these to make arms and a nut. Twist the sixth two—inch bubble (Pic 10).

Twist the 7th soft one—inch bubble (Pic 11).

Twist the eighth one—inch bubble (Pic 12). It’s the nut.

Twist the ninth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 13).

Twist the tenth two—inch bubble (Pic 14).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last five (the sixth through the tenth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 15). This step is marked with arrows between points E and J on the scheme.

Lock both ends of the seventh bubble in one lock twist (Pic 16). This step is marked with arrows between points F and G on the scheme.

Lock both ends of the ninth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 17). This step is marked with arrows between points H and I on the scheme. We have made the arms and the nut.

Twist the eleventh one—inch bubble (Pic 18). It’s the head.

The next two bubbles we twist to make the ears. Or we twist the next three bubbles to make a hat (for a very fancy squirrel). Twist the twelfth soft half—inch bubble (Pic 19).

Twist the thirteenth soft half—inch bubble (Pic 20).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the 12th and the 13th) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 21). This step is marked with arrows between points K and M on the scheme.

Lock both ends of the twelfth (the thirteenth) bubble in one lock twist (Pic 22). This step is marked with arrows between points K and L on the scheme. The rest of the balloon is the fourteenth bubble.

Cut off the fourteenth bubble and tie off the end. Use a permanent maker to draw the face of the squirrel and the nut (Pic 23 and 28). Congratulations, you have made the squirrel. Have fun and happy twisting :)
