Balloon star


Materials: a balloon; an air pump and scissors.

We are going to twist twenty soft one—inch bubbles to make five points star. To make the six points star you have twist twenty four soft one—inch bubbles. Above you find the scheme of five points star. The scheme of six points star looks the same plus one more chain of four bubbles. Inflate a balloon leaving a seven—inch flat tail (Pic 1).

Twist the first bubble (Pic 2).

Twist the second bubble (Pic 3).

Twist the third bubble (Pic 4).

Twist the fourth bubble (Pic 5).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last three (the second through the fourth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 6). This step is marked with arrows between points B and C on the scheme.

Twist the fifth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 7).

Twist the sixth bubble (Pic 8).

Twist the seventh bubble (Pic 9).

Twist the eighth bubble (Pic 10).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last three (the sixth through eighth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 11). This step is marked with arrows between points D and E on the scheme.

Twist the ninth bubble (Pic 12).

Twist the tenth bubble (Pic 13).

Twist the eleventh bubble (Pic 14).

Twist the twelfth bubble (Pic 15).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last three (the tenth through twelfth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 16). This step is marked with arrows between points F and G on the scheme.

Twist the thirteenth bubble (Pic 17).

Twist the fourteenth bubble (Pic 18).

Twist the fifteenth bubble (Pic 19).

Twist the sixteenth bubble (Pic 20).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last three (the fourteenth through the sixteenth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 21). This step is marked with arrows between points H and I on the scheme.

Twist the seventeenth bubble (Pic 22).

Twist the eighteenth bubble (Pic 23).

Twist the nineteenth bubble (Pic 24).

Twist the twentieth bubble (Pic 25).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last three (the eighteenth through the twentieth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 26). This step is marked with arrows between points J and K on the scheme.

If you are making the five points star then the rest of the balloon is the 21st bubble. If you are making the six points star then let's go to the Pic 29. Lock both ends of the chain of the first twenty (the first through the twentieth ) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 27 and 28). This step is marked with arrows between points A and K on the scheme. You can cut off the 21st bubble and tie off the end or keep it. Congratulations, you have made the five points star. 


To make the six points star you have to twist four more one—inch bubbles. Twist the 21st  bubble (Pic 29).

Twist the 22nd bubble (Pic 30).

Twist the 23rd bubble (Pic 31).

Twist the 24th bubble (Pic 32).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last three (the 22nd through the 24th) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 33). The rest of the balloon is the 25th bubble.

Lock both ends of the chain of the first 24 (the first through the 24th) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 34 and 35). You can cut off the 25th bubble and tie off the end or keep it. Congratulations, you have made the six points star!
