How to make a balloon giraffe


Materials: two balloons; an air pump and a permanent marker.

Inflate a balloon leaving a four—inch flat tail (Pic 1).

The first three bubbles you twist and lock in the bird body twist/ foldTwist the first three—inch bubble (Pic 2).

Twist the second three—inch bubble (Pic 3).

Lock both ends of the chain of two (the first and the second) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 4). This step is marked with arrows between points A and C on the scheme 1.

Twist the third three—inch bubble (Pic 5).

Lock the free end of the third bubble between the first and the second bubbles (Pic 6). This step is marked with red arrows between points D and B on the scheme 1.

The next three bubbles you twist and lock in the bird body fold/ twistTwist the fourth two—inch bubble (Pic 7).

Twist the fifth two—inch bubble (Pic 8).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the fourth and the fifth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 9). This step is marked with arrows between points D and F on the scheme 1.

Twist the sixth two—inch bubble (Pic 10).

Lock the free end of the sixth bubble between the fourth and the fifth bubbles (Pic 11). This step is marked with red arrows between points G and E on the scheme 1.

Twist the seventh six—inch bubble (Pic 12).

Lock both ends of the seventh bubble in one lock twist (Pic 13). This step is marked with arrows between points G and H on the scheme 1. It’s the first ear.

Twist the eighth sixth—inch bubble (Pic 14).

Lock both ends of the eighth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 15). This step is marked with arrows between points H and I on the scheme 1. It’s the second ear.

The next two bubbles you twist to make the eyes. Twist the ninth two—inch bubble (Pic 16).

Twist the tenth two—inch bubble (Pic 17).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the ninth and the tenth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 18 and 19). This step is marked with arrows between points J and I on the scheme. The rest of the balloon is the eleventh bubble. It is the horn.


You have made the head. Inflate the second balloon leaving a four—inch flat tail (Pic 20).

Twist the first two—inch bubble (Pic 21). It’s the tail.

The next four bubbles you twist to make the rear legs. Twist the second two—inch bubble (Pic 22).

Twist the third one—inch bubble (Pic 23).

Twist the fourth one—inch bubble (Pic 24).

Twist the fifth two—inch bubble (Pic 25).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last four (the second through the fifth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 26). This step is marked with arrows between points A and B on the scheme 2.

Twist the sixth two—inch bubble (Pic 27). It’s the body.

The next four bubbles you twist to make the front legs. Twist the seventh two—inch bubble (Pic 28).

Twist the eighth one—inch bubble (Pic 29).

Twist the ninth one—inch bubble (Pic 30).

Twist the tenth two—inch bubble (Pic 31).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last four (the seventh through the tenth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 32). This step is marked with arrows between points C and D on the scheme 2. The rest of the balloon is the eleventh bubble. It’s the neck.

Twist the twelfth bubble at the end of the second balloon of the same size as the eleventh bubble of the first balloon (Pic 33).

Lock the free end (point E on the scheme 2) of the eleventh bubble of the 2nd balloon between the seventh and the eighth bubbles (ears) of the first balloon (Pic 34 through 36). Use the permanent marker to draw the face and the body of the giraffe.



Congratulations, you have made the giraffe (Pic 37).
