Balloon animal fat body


Materials: two balloons; scissors and an air pump.

Inflate a balloon leaving a four—inch flat tail (Pic 1).

Twist the first five—inch bubble. It’s the neck (Pic 2).

The next three bubbles you twist to make one arm. Twist the second four—inch bubble (Pic 3).

Twist the third one—inch bubble (Pic 4).

Twist the fourth four—inch bubble (Pic 5).

Lock both ends of the last three (the second through the fourth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 6). This step is marked with arrows between points A and B on the scheme 1.

The next three bubbles you twist to make the second arm. Twist the fifth four—inch bubble (Pic 7).

Twist the sixth one—inch bubble (Pic 8).

Twist the seventh four—inch bubble (Pic 9).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last three (the fifth through the seventh) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 10). This step is marked with arrows between points B and C on the scheme 1. You have made the second arm.

The next three bubbles you twist in the bird body twist/fold to make the body. Twist the eighth four—inch bubble (Pic 11).

Twist the ninth four—inch bubble (Pic 12).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the eighth and the ninth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 13). This step is marked with arrows between points C and E on the scheme 1.

Twist the tenth four—inch bubble (Pic 14).

Lock the free end of the tenth bubble between the eighth and ninth bubbles (Pic 15). This step is marked with arrows between points D and F on the scheme 1. Just roll the eighth and the ninth bubbles around the tenth bubble. The rest of the balloon is the eleventh bubble. It’s the tail.

Inflate the second balloon leaving a four—inch flat tail (Pic 16).

The first three bubbles you twist to make one foot. Twist the first one—inch bubble (Pic 17).

Twist the second two—inch bubble (Pic 18).

Twist the third two—inch bubble (Pic 19).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the second and the third) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 20). This step is marked with arrows between points A and B on the scheme 2.

Twist the fourth four—inch bubble (Pic 21).

Lock the free end (point C on the scheme 2) of the fourth bubble between the body and the tail (Pic 22 and 23). You have made one leg.


Twist the fifth five—inch bubble (Pic 24).

Lock the free end (point D on the scheme 2) of the fifth bubble between the body and the neck (Pic 25).

Twist the sixth five—inch bubble (Pic 26).

Lock the free end (Point E on the scheme 2) of the 6th bubble between the body and the tail (Pic 27 and 28). This step is marked with arrows between points C and E on the scheme 2.


Twist the seventh four—inch bubble (Pic 29).

The next three bubbles you twist to make the second foot. Twist the eighth two—inch bubble (Pic 30).

Twist the ninth two—inch bubble (Pic 31).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the eighth and the ninth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 32). This step is marked with arrows between points F and G on the scheme 2.

Twist the tenth one—inch bubble (Pic 33). The rest of the balloon is the eleventh bubble.

Cut off the eleventh bubble and tie off the end (Pic 34).

Congratulations, you have made the body (Pic 35 and 36).


You may attach the body to a head by tying a knot around a bubble of the head; by stuffing the neck between bubbles of the head (Pic 37); or by twisting a small bubble at the end of the neck and locking it with a bubble of the head in one lock twist.
