How to make balloon SpongeBob


Materials: four balloons; an air pump; scissors and a permanent marker.

Use yellow (honey or gold) balloon to make the head of the Sponge Bob. Inflate the yellow balloon leaving a six—inch flat tail (Pic 1).

Twist the first two—inch bubble (Pic 2).

Twist the second soft one—inch bubble (Pic 3).

Lock both ends of the second bubble in one lock twist (Pic 4). This step is marked with arrows between points B and C on the scheme.

Twist the third one—inch bubble (Pic 5).

Twist the fourth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 6).

Lock both ends of the fourth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 7). This step is marked with arrows between points D and E on the scheme.

Twist the fifth four—inch bubble (Pic 8).

Twist the sixth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 9).

Lock both ends of the sixth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 10). This step is marked with arrows between points F and G on the scheme.

Twist the 7th one—inch bubble (Pic 11).

Twist the eighth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 12).

Lock both ends of the eighth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 13). This step is marked with arrows between points H and I on the scheme.

Twist the ninth four—inch bubble (Pic 14).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last eight (the second through the ninth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 15). This step is marked with arrows between points B and J on the scheme.

Twist the tenth two—inch bubble (Pic 16).

Twist the eleventh soft one—inch bubble (Pic 17).

Lock both ends of the 11th bubble in one lock twist (Pic 18). This step is marked with arrows between points K and L on the scheme.

Twist the twelfth four—inch bubble (Pic 19).

Twist the 13th soft one—inch bubble (Pic 20).

Lock both ends of the thirteenth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 21). This step is marked with arrows between points M and N on the scheme.

Twist the 14th two—inch bubble (Pic 22).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last seven (the eighth through the fourteenth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 23). This step is marked with arrows between points H and O on the scheme.

Twist the fifteenth two—inch bubble (Pic 24).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last fifteen (the first through the fifteenth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 25 through 28). This step is marked with arrows between points A and P on the scheme. The rest of the balloon is the sixteenth bubble. It’s the nose.




Now we are going to make the eyes and the front teeth. We can use a scrap of a white balloon to inflate a six—inch bubble (Pic 29).

Twist the first two—inch bubble (Pic 30).

Twist the second two—inch bubble (Pic 31).

Lock both ends of the chain of the firs two (the first and the second) white bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 32). We have made the eyes.

Twist the third one—inch bubble (Pic 33).

Twist the fourth one—inch bubble (Pic 34).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the third and the fourth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 35). We have made the teeth.

Cut off the rest of the balloon and tie off the end. Lock the white bubbles between the sixteenth yellow bubble and the rest of the yellow bubbles (Pic 36 through 40). We have made the head with eyes and teeth.





There are many different bodies, legs and arms that we can attach to this sculpture. Inflate a white balloon leaving a five—inch flat tail (Pic 41).

We are going to make the arms and the body. Twist the first two—inch bubble (Pic 42).

Twist the second soft one—inch bubble (Pic 43).

Lock both ends of the second bubble in one lock twist (Pic 44).

Twist the third one—inch bubble (Pic 45).

Twist the fourth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 46).

Lock both ends of the fourth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 47).

Twist the fifth two—inch bubble (Pic 48).

Lock both ends of the chain of the first five (the first through the fifth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 49). We’ve made a palm.

Twist the 6th three—inch bubble (Pic 50). It’s the arm.

The next three bubbles we twist in the bird body fold/twist to make the body or the shirt. Twist the eighth four—inch bubble (Pic 51).

Twist the eighth four—inch bubble (Pic 52).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the seventh and the eighth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 53).

Twist the ninth four—inch bubble (Pic 54).

Lock the free end of the ninth bubble between the seventh and the eighth bubble. You have to roll the seventh and the eighth bubble around the ninth bubble (Pic 55). We have made the body.

Twist the tenth three—inch bubble (Pic 56). It’s the second arm.

Twist the 11th two—inch bubble (Pic 57).

Twist the twelfth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 58).

Lock both ends of the twelfth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 59).

Twist the thirteenth one—inch bubble (Pic 60).

Twist the fourteenth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 61).

Lock both ends of the fourteenth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 62).

Twist the fifteenth two—inch bubble (Pic 63).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last five (the eleventh through the fifteenth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 64). The rest of the balloon is the sixteenth bubble. You can cut it off. 

We have made the body with arms (Pic 65).

Attach the body to the head. Lock the sixth yellow bubble between the white arm bubble and the three (the seventh through the ninth) white body bubbles (Pic 66).

Lock the fourth yellow bubble between the three white body bubbles and the arm (Pic 67 through 69). Fix one white body bubble on the front and the other two white body bubbles on the back of the sculpture.



Inflate a brown (or black) balloon leaving a five—inch flat tail (Pic 70).

Twist the first two—inch bubble (Pic 71).

Twist the second two—inch bubble (Pic 72).

Lock both ends of the chain of two (the first and the 2nd) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 73).

Twist the third soft one—inch bubble (Pic 74).

Lock both ends of the third bubble in one lock twist (Pic 75). We’ve made the foot. 

Twist the fourth four—inch bubble (Pic 76). It’s a leg.

Twist the fifth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 77).

Lock both ends of the fifth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 78).

Twist the sixth soft two—inch bubble (Pic 79).

Lock the free end of the sixth brown bubble with the sixth yellow bubble (Pic 80).

Twist the seventh soft bubble (Pic 81).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the sixth and the seventh) brown bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 82). We’ve made one leg and attached it to the head.

Twist the eighth four—inch bubble (Pic 83).

Twist the 9th soft one—inch bubble (Pic 84).

Lock both ends of the ninth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 85).

Twist the tenth soft two—inch bubble (Pic 86).

Lock the free end of the tenth brown bubble with the fourth yellow bubble (Pic 87). We’ve attached the second leg to the head.

Twist the 11th soft two—inch bubble (Pic 88).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the tenth and the eleventh) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 89).

Twist the twelfth four—inch bubble (Pic 90).

Twist the thirteenth two—inch bubble (Pic 91).

Twist the 14th two—inch bubble (Pic 92).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the thirteenth and the fourteenth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 93).

Twist the fifteenth soft one—inch bubble (Pic 94).

Lock both ends of the fifteenth bubble in one lock twist and cut off the rest of the balloon (Pic 95 through 97).



Use a permanent marker to draw the eyes. Congratulations, you have made the Sponge Bob (Pic 98).
