Inflate a balloon leaving no more then 1/2 inch of the flat tail (Pic 1).

Twist the first three—inch bubble (Pic 2).

The next 3 bubbles you twist in the bird body twist. Use the balloon to measure the head of the person you are making the hat for (Pic 3).

Find half of the loop (Pic 4).

Twist the second bubble at this point (Pic 5 and 6).

Twist the 3rd bubble of the same size as the 2nd bubble and lock both ends of the chain of the last two (the second and the third) bubbles in one lock twist. Below you may see how to twist the third bubble and lock the two bubbles in one lock twist in one step. Fold the second bubble aside of the balloon (Pic 7).

Twist the first bubble around of the balloon at the point where you intend to twist the third bubble (Pic 8 and 9). This step is marked with arrows between points A and C on the scheme.

You have made the third bubble and the lock twist at the same time (Pic 10).

Twist the fourth bubble of any size but make sure to make the fifth three—inch bubble at the end of the balloon (Pic 11).

Lock the free end of the fourth bubble between the second and the third bubbles (Pic 12 and 13). This step is marked with arrows between points B and D on the scheme.

Congratulations, you have made the hat 2. This is one of the basic hats. You may use this hat as it is (Pic 14 through 17) or as the base for any other sculpture (flowers, a pumpkin and etc). You may attach any balloon sculpture to the hat. Have fun and happy twisting :)
