Materials: a balloon, an air pump, sewing thread, and scissors.
Inflate a balloon leaving about eight inch flat tail (Pic 1).

Twist a chain of the first two (the first and the second) soft  about one inch bubbles (Pic 2).

Lock all ends of the first two bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 3).

Twist the third about two inch bubble. Twist the fourth soft about one inch bubble. Twist the fifth about one inch bubble. We will pop fifth bubble later. Twist the 6th soft about one inch bubble. Twist the 7th about two inch bubble (Pic 4).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last five (the third through the seventh) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 5).

Lock both ends of the fourth bubble in one lock twist. Lock both ends of the sixth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 6). The two long bubbles will represent the middle line of our sculpture.

Twist the eighth about two and half inch bubble. Twist the ninth soft about one inch bubble. Twist the tenth about one inch bubble. We will pop up the tenth bubble later. Twist the eleventh soft about one inch bubble. Twist the twelfth about two and half inch bubble (Pic 7).

Lock both ends of the ninth bubble in one lock twist. Lock both ends of the eleventh bubble in one lock twist (Pic 9).

Twist the thirteenth about two and half inch bubble. Twist the fourteenth soft about one inch bubble. Twist the fifteenth about one inch bubble. Twist the sixteenth soft about one inch bubble. Twist the seventeenth about two and half inch bubble (Pic 10).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last five (the thirteenth through the seventeenth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 11).

Lock both ends of the fourteenth bubble in one lock twist. Lock both ends of the sixteenth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 12).

Use scissors to cut off the rest of the balloon (Pic 13).

Use sewing thread to secure all six small one inch bubbles at the ends of our sculpture.
Simply loop the sewing thread a couple times around each small bubble (Pic 14).

Use scissors to pop the the fifth, the tenth, and the fifteenth bubbles to separate the ends of the sculpture. As you may noticed already, we have made three pairs of long bubbles. The first pair we have made using shorter (two inch long) bubbles to represent the middle line of our sculpture.  Bring ends of the top of the sculpture closer to each other. Place the two inch long bubble in the middle. Fix bubbles in proper positions using the sewing thread (Pic 15 and 16).

Bring ends of the bottom of the sculpture closer to each other. Place the two inch long bubble in the middle. Fix bubbles in proper positions using the sewing thread. Congratulations, we have made Russian letter Ж (Pic 16).

Use sewing thread to attach our sculpture to other letters to make words (Pic 17).

If you don't use sewing thread then the ends of our sculpture will spread around to form a star (Pic 18). Also, we can use this sculpture as a base to make 3-D star or snowflake. Have fun and happy twisting :)
