Materials: a balloon, an air pump, scissors, sewing thread.
Inflate a balloon leaving about five inch flat tail (Pic 1).
Twist the first soft about one inch bubble (Pic 2).
Lock both ends of the first bubble in one lock twist (Pic 3).
Twist the second about one inch bubble. Twist the third soft about one inch bubble (Pic 4).
Lock both ends of the third bubble in one lock twist (Pic 5).
Twist the fourth about four inch bubble. Twist the fifth soft about one inch bubble (Pic 6).
Lock both ends of the fifth bubble in one lock twist. Twist the sixth about one inch bubble. Twist the seventh soft about one inch bubble (Pic 7).
Lock both ends of the seventh bubble in one lock twist (Pic 8).
Twist the eighth about four inch bubble (Pic 9).
Lock both ends of the chain of the last seven (the second through the eighth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 10).
Twist the ninth about one inch bubble. Twist the tenth soft about one inch bubble (Pic 11).
Lock both ends of the tenth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 12).
Twist the eleventh about four inch bubble. Twist the 12th soft about one inch bubble (Pic 13).
Lock both ends of the 12th bubble in one lock twist (Pic 14).
Cut off nicely the rest of the balloon. We are going to use the rest of the balloon later to make the letter Щ. Tie off the ends (Pic 15). At this moment our sculpture looks like Russian letter Б.
Fix all bubbles in proper positions (Pic 17).
Congratulations, we have made Russian letter Ш (Pic 18). If you flip the sculpture over then it will looks like letter m!
Let's use the scrap of pink balloon to make letter Щ (Pic 19).
We need to attach about three inch long bubble to either third or the tenth bubble of our sculpture (Pic 20).
Twist the first about one inch bubble. Twist the second soft about one inch bubble (Pic 21).
Lock both ends of the second bubble in one lock twist (Pic 22).
Twist the third about one inch bubble. Twist the fourth soft about one inch bubble (Pic 23).
Lock both ends of the fourth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 24).
Cut off the rest of the balloon. Congratulations, we have made the Russian letter Щ (Pic 25). As always we can use sewing thread to fix bubbles in proper positions and to attach it to other letters to make words. Have fun and happy twisting :)
