Materials: a balloon, an air pump, scissors and sewing thread
Inflate a balloon leaving about four inches flat tail (Pic 1).
Twist the first soft about one inch bubble (Pic 2).
Lock both ends of the first bubble in one lock twist (Pic 3).
Twist the second about two inches bubble. Twist the third soft about one inch bubble (Pic 4).
Lock both ends of the third bubble in one lock twist (pic 5).
Twist the fourth about one inch bubble. It is pop up bubble. We are going to pop it later. Twist the fifth soft about one inch bubble (Pic 6).
Lock both ends of the fifth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 7).
Twist the sixth about two inch bubble (Pic 8).
Lock both ends of the chain of the last five (the second through the sixth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 9).
Twist the seventh about one inch bubble. Twist the eighth soft about one inch bubble (Pic 10).
Lock both ends of the eighth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 11).
Use scissors to cut the fourth bubble (Pic 12).
Fix all bubbles in proper positions (Pic 13).
Bend the rest of the balloon to shape a circle. Measure the size of the ninth bubble (Pic 14).
Twist the ninth bubble. I twisted about twenty inches long ninth bubble in this example (Pic 15).
Lock both ends of the ninth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 16).
Cut off the rest of the balloon. Tie off the end. Fix all bubbles in proper positions. Congratulations, we have made the Russian letter Ю. Use sewing thread of the same color as the background to attach letter to each other (Pic 17 and 18). Then we can use clear sticky tape to attach words to walls or even suspend the sculpture from ceiling. Have fun and happy twisting :)
