Balloon Letter Б. Balloon letter Ъ

Materials: balloons, an air pump, scissors and sewing thread.

First we are going to make Russian letter Б and then we will use it to make Russian letter Ъ. Inflate a balloon leaving about four-inch flat tail (Pic 1).

Twist the first soft about one-inch bubble. Lock both ends of the first bubble in one lock twist (Pic 2).

Twist the second about four-inch bubble. Twist the third soft about one-inch bubble (Pic 3).

Lock both ends of the third bubble in one lock twist (Pic 4).

Twist the fourth about four-inch bubble. Twist the fifth soft about one-inch bubble (Pic 5).

Lock both ends of  the fifth bubble in one lock twist (Pic 6).

Twist the sixth about four-inch bubble. Twist the seventh soft about one-inch bubble (Pic 7).

Lock both ends of the seventh bubble in one lock twist (Pic 8).

Bend the rest of the balloon in a shape of semicircle to measure the size of the eighth bubble (Pic 9).

Twist the eighth bubble (Pic 10).

Lock both ends of the chain of the last three (the sixth through the eighth) bubbles in one lock twist (Pic 11).

The rest of the balloon is the ninth bubble. We can use it as a handle or to attach the sculpture to hat and etc. Or cut it off and tie off the ends. Congratulations, we have made the letter Б. We can use sewing threads to attach letters to make words (Pic 12). 

Choose color of sewing thread to mach color of the background to make it invisible (Pic 13).

We can turn the top part of letter Б in opposite direction to make Russian letter Ъ (Pic 14).

As you can see in this example, we can use one sculpture to make two letters (Pic 15). Have fun and happy twisting :)
